Bamba Records artiste, Fareed, has moved a step further in his career with two new award nominations.

The “Hip-hop Alhaji”hitmaker, who was a year older on Tuesday, March 7, received two nominations at the 2nd edition of the prestigious Northern Entertainment Awards (NEA).

Fareed was nominated in the “Discovery of the Year” and the “Best Music Video of the Year” categories.

He earned the “Discovery of the Year” spot due to his impressive career kick-start in 2016 and he will compete with One9ra, 2s, Double Tee, Nando, Gaffaci, Flower Gaskiya, 2 Korners, B-Wayne, and RasWormz.

His classic “Hip-hop Alhaji” film which was directed by Jeneral J earned “Best Music Video of the Year” spot.

The two nominations make him one of the very first Southern musicians to have ever earned a spot in the two-year-old award scheme.

Northern-Ghana Entertainment Awards is an initiative put together by Smile Multimedia in collaboration with the various stakeholders in the entertainment arts, tourism and culture to recognise and honour some distinguished personalities who have positively contributed to the steady growth of the entertainment industry in Northern Ghana.
