eShun disclaims that Ghanaian female music artists are being hypocritical after a song by MUSIGA was released in memory of Pricilla Owusu Kwarteng aka Ebony Reigns. She said this on an interview on Radio Central on their Weekend Entertainment Show, SlamDown Xtra. eShun, who is about to release her debut Official album Untamed said that the backlash is not necessary since Ebony could have had songs with female artiste but have not yet been released since the video was dated in 2015.

“Ebony has a song with Eno Barony who is a female artiste. I also know she was working on other songs with other female artistes”, she explained. The host then asked if she was ever contacted by the Ebony or her management to do a feature and her response was, “No”.

The SomeOne Loves Me Hit-Maker who has just released a new reggae song Fa Me Kor further noted that ebony could not have put all female artiste on a song but just a selected few. She however said that Ghanaians will definitely talk on the issue regardless whether the song was done in her memory or not.

“I think its okay that we were able to come together to do this song, because even if we hadn’t, people would have still had something to say. I am sure if we hadn’t they would be saying Ebony has passed and her fellow female musician couldn’t come together to do a song in her honour. So in a nut shell whatever we do in life will attract peoples opinion, there’s nothing we can do about it, may her soul find rest,” eShun added.

In response to a question related to the statements made by the controversial dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale that a lot of Ghanaians including respected journalists heavily criticized Ebony and insisted that many Ghanaians especially the media never showered support to the talented artiste but are out in numbers to mourn her demise; the United Nations High Commission On Refugees West African High Level Supporter on Statelessness eShun said, “First of all, everyone has the right to choose what he or she want to support. I agree with Shatta to the point that the Ghanaian Media can do better than they are doing now considering the challenges I faced when I started and also looking at the numbers at Ebony’s One Week Observation. To think that about three TV Stations were giving live coverage of the event is impressive. If they did that for her when she was doing her album launch, it would have been way better.”

eShun concluded, “Support me now that I am alive; please I won’t need it when I am dead”.
