The biggest awards in the Ghanaian music industry is the Ghana Music Awards. A franchise which is owned by Charter House Ghana, this event has been in existence for over 15 years and counting. Another year is here and during the first week of 2018, an announcement was made for the submission of entries for potential nominees.
A general call open to all industry players in the Ghanaian music industry, the period of valid entry was stated to be from January 1, 2017 – 31st December, 2017. The submission was to made online via an internet portal website which was provided by Charter House or to be delivered to Charter House at their office at North Kaneshie here in Accra.
From the 3rd of January entries we accepted and the closing date was 31st of January. Today is 1st February and officially the submission of nominations are over. If you forgot to submit your forms, then your works for 2017 won’t gain any recognition via the Ghana Music Awards.
Some of the categories include Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year and many others. The Board will sit and deliberate on the entries made with the final announcement to be made on the nominees whom are finally accepted.
